For example, Apple "was able to rejuvenate what was a very stagnant tablet market to the point that it almost became a new market because of apps and iTunes," Laura DiDio, principal at ITIC, pointed out. "If you want to take on Apple, you must have the apps." There are more th...
"If you can't tell the CIO, the CEO, the VP of IT that your producthas the apps they need for their tablet, you won't get any traction,"Laura DiDio, principal at ITIC, told TechNewsWorld Possible Alternatives for webOS...
"That $100 price cut wasn't enough," Laura DiDio, principal at ITIC, told TechNewsWorld. "If you want to take on Apple, you must have the apps, and you must have an introductory price of $299." HP's introductory pricing was $500 for the 16GB TouchPad and $600 for the 32GB mode...
"On the surface this sounds like a great lure to try to shore up their dwindling readership, but how are they going to do this?" asked Laura DiDio, principal at ITIC. "The investment's going to be huge; if they are talking to Samsung, that' s not going to come cheap." Tribune ...
"Collectively, these are must-do moves for RIM to stay competitive," Laura DiDio, principal at ITIC, told TechNewsWorld. "Releasing these announcements all at once is designed to show people RIM's not standing still, they're still a powerhouse and a market leader, they're as good as their competitors, and deserve to remain on everyone's list," she added...
"To a degree, the iPad is cannibalizing Macs and PCs among certain groups, including kids and retirees who are mainly interested in fun applications, photo albums, and being able to retrieve their email and connect to social networking sites and the Internet via Safari," Laura DiDio, principal at ITIC, told TechNewsWorld...
"The valuation is what it is, and right now it's sky-high, and as they say, what goes up must come down. Clearly right now any type of social media or network is a stock darling, because the public has a big appetite for it right now," Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC, told the E-Commerce Times...
"If it's true, it does not surprise me," Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC , told the E-Commerce Times. "There is lots of money in those recreational games. The rest of the economy may be sluggish, but global consumers have not lost their appetite for playing games." One ...

"The world didn't end -- the computers didn't crash. Doomsday has been delayed for at least another six months," Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC, told TechNewsWorld. "We haven't totally run out of IP addresses yet -- that will happen in a few months," she noted.
"They've just started to make a profit on the hardware," Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC, told TechNewsWorld. "Kinect really captured the public's imagination. Microsoft has a winner. Even adults were using it. The kids want it, and the next thing, the adults are using it."
"Who's going to bite on this? Apotheker is casting his net upon the water to see what's out there," Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC, told the E-Commerce Times. "In this economy, it's a smart strategy," she said. "You have to have partners. This is the old tried-and- tr...
"What David Einhorn is not offering up is, who is going to take Steve Ballmer's place?" Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC, told the E-Commerce Times. "That's the more important piece. We're not talking about the corner drugstore; we're talking about one of the bellwether stocks. Even with its stagnant stock for the past few years, Microsoft remains one of the bellwether stocks in the high-tech industry, and it is still a crucial player in this market. Google passed them and Apple passed them, but they're still in the top five."
"With tablets and cellphones, marketers are reaching multiple, very broad venues for pitching their products and hawking their wares," Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC, told the E-Commerce Times. "People are using the tablets and notebooks to watch videos and television. Their lives are no further away than the palm of their hands."
"This is all a new area," Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC, told the E-Commerce Times. "Five or 10 years ago, this wouldn't have been a consideration. There are no laws for this yet. Google has 65 percent of the search market. They have a terrific amount of money. So the Department of Justice is trying to keep pace with Google, but they can't assess fines at this point.
"That's the $8.5 billion question. The truth is we don't know yet," Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC, told the E-Commerce Times. "What we do know is that the $8.5 billion Microsoft paid is 10 times Skype's 2010 annual revenue of $860 million. Skype also posted a $7 million loss in fiscal 2010. So this is a big gamble. And the answer will lie in the payday -- if there is one. Microsoft's decision to buy Skype will either be a big boon or a big bust."
"They're 15 now. And they are going to stream them globally," Laura DiDio, principal analyst at ITIC, told TechNewsWorld Now that everyone is online, the awards may have difficulty positioning themselves.
