MarchFirst (Nasdaq: XRCH), the Internet professional services company formed recently by the merger of Whittman-Hart and USWeb/CKS, reported a surge in revenues for the first quarter as it ironed out the details of its consolidation.
The Chicago, Illinois-based company reported pro-forma revenues of $352 million, a 41 percent increase over the same period last year, and pro-forma net income of $28 million, up 97 percent over the first quarter of 1999.
MarchFirst said it closed the merger a month ahead of schedule and gained $70 million in new business in the first quarter. The company said it intends to launch a global advertising campaign to build brand awareness and plans to expand offerings in the second quarter for CRM, e-commerce and supply chain management solutions.
