Shares of direct marketing company FreeShop.com (Nasdaq: FSHP), which promotes products and services with samples, free trial offers and coupons, climbed nearly 11.5 percent on Wednesday, gaining 1-3/8 to 13-3/8 after the company announced a five-year agreement with eBay.
Under the terms of the deal, eBay is the exclusive sponsor for FreeShop’s Hobbies category and will receive promotion throughout the rest of FreeShop’s site, which is visited by more than 3.7 million unique users each month, according to Media Metrix.
FreeShop went public at $12 on September 28. The stock closed at 13-9/16 in its first day of trading after trading as high as 19-1/2.
