The Go2Net (Nasdaq:GNET) network of Web sites and Wireless Dimension recently unveiled a co-branded site, where Go2Net Network users can compare and buy wireless phones and service. The relationship provides a boost for Wireless Dimension, which will gain visibility among Go2Net’s base of more than one million users per day.
Internet users can enter the co-branded site from three of the Go2Net Network’s properties: MetaCrawler, HyperMart and WebMarket. The site is also listed in the MetaCrawler Marketplace, which includes Go2Net’s network partners.
The Wireless Dimension Web site enables consumers in the top 50 U.S. metropolitan areas to research and compare side-by-side virtually all available wireless phones and services in their market. They can then identify the package that meets their needs and buy it online. Named one of the seven Best Web Sites of 1998 by “Business Week” magazine, Wireless Dimension positions itself a free, impartial and reliable resource.
Parent Company Receives More Funding
The Wireless Dimension service is owned by Nth Dimension Corporation, a privately held, electronic publisher of comparison shopping services, based near Seattle, Washington.
In related news, Nth Dimension announced on Monday that it has received a third round of financing, totaling approximately $8 million. The new round of funding is led by Minneapolis-based Oak Investment Partners, with supporting investments from IDG Ventures of San Francisco, and Seattle-based Kirlan Venture Capital.
